It’s true that sometimes you find soulmates in friends and you don’t always need to be dating or married. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are the best real-life examples to prove this. These two stars have been friends for more than two decades now. Reeves met Bullock when they starred in the 1994 film ‘Speed’ in which they played lovers.
“We had to do all these really physical scenes together, rolling around on the floor and stuff. At one point Keanu stumbled into me and sort of grabbed my butt,” Sandra said of their initial interaction. “I asked him, ‘Are you copping a feel?’ He got all panicky and was like, ‘Nooooo! I wasn’t!’ I was like, ‘Relax, Keanu. Just kidding.“‘ Despite having such a meet-cute start their equation, the two never actually came around to dating each other. Why Did The Stars Never Date?
You might have guessed by just looking at their chemistry that they once had a crush on each other. Reeves even admitted once that his kiss with Bullock in the film ‘The Lake House‘ was one of the “most memorable” parts of filming. However, Bullock admitted that she is glad to leave these feelings aside and for not acting romantically. She said that the possibility of dating Reeves may have changed the way they look at each other if they ever broke up.
“Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated,” she revealed. “I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know. But we didn’t have to survive anything. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together.”

How Close Are Keanu Reeves And Sandra Bullock?
We all have seen the energy of their bond on screen. But, let us tell you they are just as close off-screen if not more. Both Reeves and Bullock have spoken highly about each other in several interviews. In 1994 Keanu Reeves said in an interview “Wherever she goes, she really gives and wants things to be…springtime. I’ve enjoyed her company immensely. Oh yeah, she’s a really great actress, too.” The two even appeared on the red carpet together at the 76th Academy Awards in 2006.
They both still have lunches and dinners together and really cherish each other’s company. Bullock even told how Reeves once came to her home and presented her with champagne and truffles. Both of them are still really comfortable and often pull silly jokes on each other. Bullock once joked that she is responsible for cleaning Reeves’ house once a week. “I clean his house every Thursday. It’s sort of a thing that we had. I lost a bet when we did ‘Speed,’ and I said, ‘Well, if it’s not true, I’ll clean your house. Other than cleaning his house on Thursdays, I see him maybe once or twice a year,” she said.
