Marvel Studios is tearing rather than pushing the envelope! In their recent projects, Marvel hasn’t shied away from tapping into darker, depressing, and gothic elements. Sam Raimi’s ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness’ was touted to be the “first scary MCU film” with a darker tone. Now, the new Disney+ seriesMs. Marvel’ may also dive into similar trenches as the show progresses.

The first episode of the show received positive reviews from critics. ‘Ms. Marvel’ traces the story of a young Pakistani-American girl, who discovers that she possesses superpowers. The series is one of the threads leading to the ‘Captain Marvel’ sequel. The first episode was a light watch with the origin story of Kamala Khan in focus. However, things may take a turn soon.

‘Ms. Marvel’ Director Divulges Information About The Tone Of New Episodes

Ms. Marvel‘ creatives discussed how they planned tp take the narrative forward. Along with the show’s creator, writer, and executive producer, Sana Amanat, director Adil El Arbi and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, talked about the future arc of the show.

Sana Amanat cautioned the team to not give away any spoilers. Adil, on the other hand, said, “Well, their episodes are gonna be a little darker. The stakes are gonna get higher, so let’s discuss ladies.” Sharmeen treaded a safer path and revealed that Kamala will be on a journey of self-discovery and she will reconnect with her family.

A Journey Of Self-Discovery Awaits Kamala Khan

Obaid-Chinoy added, “I think that in searching her identity, Kamala Khan is going to go on this journey to reconnect with her family to understand why it’s so important for her to tell her own story and to craft that story.”

She continued, “And to feel that she could be that superhero she always wanted to be, except that it would be her being the superhero as opposed to emulating someone else. And on that journey of discovery, we as an audience are going to go on what I can safely say is gonna be the thrill of our lives.”
