“What It Thinks Of You?” Will Smith Questions His Oscar
A year after the slapping incident, a TikTok of Will Smith emerged which is reeling in social media. The TikTok is in a duet video where on one side Miss Money Working encourages her viewers to ask any inanimate object, “What it thinks of you?” This activity is based on the theory that each object has a consciousness. According to Sam when we ask an object, say a pen, this question, “And you will get an answer in your mind, or intuition.”
Meanwhile, Will is seen nodding along with Sam’s experiment. When the clip comes to an end, Will is seen picking up his Oscar and placing it on his lap. There is no further audio in the clip but the curious stretches of lines of Will’s expression make it explicit what he yearns to know. While some fans on Twitter show love and support for Will, some still question if the actor deserves the award.

Upon the posting of the TikTok, social media platforms including Twitter are receiving mixed reactions. Many fans while accepting the unprofessional behavior of Will Smith at the 94th Academy Awards would not let it interfere with the actor’s merit. They believe that Will is an exceptional actor who has contributed much to Hollywood. And his performance in King Richard well deserved the golden man. Moreover, every mistake is redeemable and time shall heal all. This could be the message of the ‘Men In Black’ actor.
Whereas some view TikTok in a disrespectful manner. These were the ones who feel a person’s mistake should not be pardoned because of his career or influence. They still attach the golden man to the slap gate incident. They strongly find the TikTok haughty and impolite.
