After many debates and sour exchanges between the two Presidents, Joe Biden has now given an all but unpleasant reaction to Donald Trump’s win, assuring a peaceful transition and urging fans to trust the electoral system to be fair and fine.

“Yesterday, I spoke with President-elect Trump to congratulate him on his victory. I assured him that I would direct my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition,” Biden said addressing from the White House.

He continued, “That’s what the American people deserve. I know for some people, it’s a time for victory, to state the obvious. For others, it’s a time of loss,” adding that giving up is “unforgivable.”

“We all get knocked down. But the measure of our character, as my dad would say, is how quickly we get back up. Remember, a defeat does not mean we are defeated. We lost this battle. The America of your dreams is calling for you to get back up,” he concluded.

The former President and former First Lady of the US reacted to Trump’s win with a statement issued publicly, talking about how the decision of the public, in a democracy, should be accepted.

“This is obviously not the outcome we had hoped for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues. But living in a democracy is about recognising that our point of view won’t always win out, and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power,” he said.

Obama added a few words of kindness for Kamala Harris and said, “Michelle (Barack Obama’s wife) and I could not be prouder of Vice President Harris and Governor Walz – two extraordinary public servants who ran a remarkable campaign. We will always be grateful to the staff and volunteer who poured their heart and soul into electing public servants they truly believed in.”

Giving a speech at her alma mater Howard University, Kamala Harris issued her first statement after the 2024 Election results, accepting the defeat to next to-be President Donald Trump.

“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for. But hear me when I say, the light of America’s promise will always burn bright, as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting…I am so proud of the campaign we ran and the way we ran it,” she said.

All fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best. That is a fight I will never give up.
