The $44 billion endeavor of Elon Musk came to fruition in October 2022, when he finally completed the deal. Since then, the ex-CEO has been on a mission to make the platform into a digital town square. However, he faced many hurdles on the road ahead. When he made the purchase, the advertisers started pulling out their advertisements, which caused heavy losses. So, to compensate for the loss, he introduced the $8 monthly subscription. It attracted a lot of ire from some famous personalities, including Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka AOC.
Elon Musk and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have been at loggerheads for a long time. It all started when AOC called out the billionaires. She believes that people do not earn billions of dollars, but they take them. Since then, Elon and AOC have been involved in a Twitter war, where Musk triggers a response from the Democrats by criticizing or challenging her. Now, Alexandria has complained about her parody account that is running on Twitter, and she has accused Musk of boosting the visibility of the account.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is Blaming Elon Musk For Increasing The Visibility Of The Parody Account
When Elon Musk introduced the $8 monthly subscription, it created havoc. Due to the easy accessibility of the verification badges, many accounts impersonated important personalities. So, in November 2022, he decided to halt the verification badge procedure to relaunch Twitter verification, aka ‘Twitter Blue.’
After relaunching and repackaging the Twitter badges as Twitter Blue, he said that any accounts impersonating anyone without mentioning “parody” will be suspended permanently.
FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility.
It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread.
I am assessing with my team how to move forward. In the meantime, be careful of what you see.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) May 30, 2023
If @elonmusk wants to have a chance with me, he’ll immediately ban the parody account of me.
This is like literally not funny.

Now, Elon Musk’s political and Twitter nemesis, AOC, has come forward with a complaint about an impersonating account. She took the complaint to Twitter, writing, “FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility.”
Alexandria continued, “It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread. I am assessing with my team how to move forward. In the meantime, be careful of what you see.”

The Parody Account Of The Democrat Made Fun Of Her
Elon Musk fueled the parody account by replying to one of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Press Release (parody) tweets. The account wrote on May 28, 2023, “This might be the wine talking, but I’ve got a crush on @elonmusk.”
After brainstorming with my staff – I’m going to push Congress to make it illegal to joke, laugh, or make fun of me.
Parody should be illegal.

After AOC‘s official tweet, the parody account mocked the Bronx and the Queens Democrat, writing, “After brainstorming with my staff–I’m going to push Congress to make it illegal to joke, laugh, or make fun of me. Parody should be illegal.” Another tweet read, “I can’t believe someone would do that to us.”
The account openly challenged, on behalf of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Elon Musk to ban the parody account with a cocky tweet. The tweet read, “If @elonmusk wants to have a chance with me, he’ll immediately ban the parody account of me.” Its bio reads, “Saying the quiet part out loud. (parody)”
