All About Daisy Ridley’s New ‘Star Wars’ Film
At the ‘Star Wars‘ celebration, Disney announced a new film in the franchise. The events of the film, which will mark the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey, will take place after ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.’
According to a Variety report, the film will chronicle Rey’s story as she tries to build a new Jedi Order. Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said that the film will take place 10 years after the events of the final film in the sequel trilogy.
“Well we’re 15 years out from ‘Rise of Skywalker,’ so we’re post-war, post-First Order, and the Jedi are in disarray,” she said. “There’s a lot of discussion around, ‘Who are the Jedi? What are they doing? What’s the state of the galaxy?’ She’s attempting to rebuild the Jedi Order, based on the books, based on what she promised Luke, so that’s where we’re going.”
The film, which is yet to be titled, is being directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and is written by Steven Knight (known for his work in ‘Peaky Blinders‘).
