Many have looked down on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from the British Royalty. The press termed it “Megxit“. And Meghan has been blamed for this decision as well by the hardcore royal fans.
However, a recently resurfaced interview shows that Prince Harry wanted to break out of Royalty way before Meghan Markle walked into his life. So let’s take a look at the details of what this is about.
Prince Harry Desired An “Ordinary Life”
Way before Meghan Markle walked into Prince Harry’s life, he wanted to get a life outside the Palace walls and live an “ordinary life”. In an interview with author Angela Levin, the Duke of Sussex expressed his wishes freely. Levin even published this interview in the U.K.’s Daily Mail and her book ‘Harry: A Biography of a Prince.’
In the interview, Prince Harry says, “I spent many years kicking my heels, and I didn’t want to grow up. I felt I wanted out but then decided to stay in and work out a role for myself.” Harry also expressed to Levin that he was determined to lead a normal life. He even felt happier serving in the Army. In his ten years of service in the Army, Captain Wales served a long time in Afghanistan. Levin says, “He loved being out in Afghanistan. He was brought back because someone leaked that he was there, and it became too dangerous for him and the soldiers.”

What Do Royal Experts Have To Say?
British Royal expert Hilary Fordwich thinks that even if Harry did not meet Meghan Markle, he would have tried to make his way out of the Royalty. Ian Pelham Turner, royal commentator also believes that Prince Harry felt the pressure of the royal family and of prestige celebrity status.
Even Royal expert Shannon Felton Spence feels the same. She told Fox News Digital that Prince Harry felt a sense of purpose in the Army. As stated by Harry himself in the interview this is very much true. Prince Harry says, “Being in the army was the best escape I’ve ever had. I felt as though I was really achieving something. I had a deep understanding of all sorts of people from different backgrounds and felt I was part of a team. I wasn’t a prince; I was just Harry.”
Adding to the pressure of being a member of the royal family was the demise of his mother, Princess Diana. Harry was very close to his mother and losing her at such a young age was devastating to him. So it seems that meeting Meghan Markle might have been the best thing that happened to him. With Meghan, Harry was able to get out of the British Royalty and all of the pressure that accompanied it.
