Prince Harry has spent quite some time in America following his fallout with the Royal Family. He is also married to an American- Meghan Markle. All that Americanness is probably getting to him as he reveals that being an American citizen is something he has put some thought into.

Speaking to GMA, the Prince was asked if he ‘felt American’ to which he replied and said “Ahhh. Do I feel American? No. I don’t know how I feel.”

He was then asked if he had ever thought about becoming an American citizen and he said “Oof. I have, I have considered it. Yeah.” He then added, “It is a thought that has crossed my mind but is not a high priority for me right now.”

He then hinted that he has his roots in Britain so an American citizenship might not be the best of ideas. “So, you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,” Harry said.

In the same interview, he also broke his silence on King Charles’ cancer diagnosis. Fifth in line to the throne, Prince Harry said, “I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could. I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”

He added, “Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together.”

He previously had flown down to see his father who is suffering from an undisclosed illness. The King’s doctors found cancer when he checked into the hospital for treatment related to an enlarged prostate. Although Buckingham Palace has stated that Charles’s condition is not prostate cancer.

The establishment has not yet disclosed to the public the type of cancer Charles has or the nature of his medical treatment. Charles is living at Sandringham, the royal residence, and has abdicated his public duties for the time being.
