Gayle King Is Concerned About How Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Felt During The Car Chase
Prince Harry, along with Doria Ragland, was attending the Ms. Foundation’s honorary event, where Meghan Markle was awarded the Women of Vision Award. When the couple and her mother left Ziegfeld Ballroom, paparazzi started chasing their car by jumping red lights and curbs.
They jeopardized their lives along with the pedestrians on the street. Since the incident, people have not been ready to buy the Duke and Duchess’ version of the story, deeming it exaggerated.
However, CBS Morning journalist Gayle King has extended her sympathy to Harry and Meghan. Gayle told Page Six, “I think it was a very unfortunate incident. It’s troubling to me that anyone would try to downplay what that would mean to them. That’s very troubling to me.”
King did not find it sensitive that media organizations and some celebrities are speaking against their narrative. She has found it rather “unsettling” how people are trying to “minimize how [Harry and Markle] felt in that moment.” Gayle continued, “I’m just really sorry it happened and very sorry they had to go through it. Everybody can have all of their opinions, but I always go back to, ‘How did they feel in that moment?’ “

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lawyers have sent a letter to the paparazzi agency, Backgrid, writing, “We hereby demand that Backgrid immediately provide us with copies of all photos, videos, and/or films taken last night by the freelance photographers after the couple left their event and over the next several hours.”
In turn, Backgrid’s lawyers sent a snarky response to them, writing, “In America, as I’m sure you know, property belongs to the owner of it: Third parties cannot just demand it be given to them, as perhaps Kings can do.”
The letter continued, “Perhaps you should sit down with your client and advise them that his English rules of royal prerogative to demand that the citizenry hand over their property to the Crown were rejected by this country long ago. We stand by our founding fathers.”
