The final installment of the Netflix documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’ came out on December 15, 2022. In the final episode of the series, the couple opened up about their friendship with the American actor and producer Tyler Perry. The actor acted as a savior for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they officially severed ties with the Royal family.
The filmmaker had appeared in the docuseries sharing his experience of being supportive of the couple. Meghan and Harry named Tyler Perry as Lilibet’s Godfather which is revealed in the final episodes. Friendship Between Tyler Perry And The Couple
When the couple had severed ties with the royal family and stepped down as senior working members of the royal family, they moved to Canada. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were living in the Vancouver Islands, “unprotected” with “no security“. Before early 2020, it was in 2018 that Tyler Perry and Meghan Markle had contacted last as Tyler shared a note of support to Meghan before Meghan and Harry’s wedding in 2018.
Finally, in 2020, the actress contacted Perry for his help. “One day when we were in Canada, I had called him, finally after years at that point, the first time we ever spoke, and I was just a wreck,” she said. “I was just crying and crying.” The actress had opened up to Tyler about all the fears she had. “She was afraid of them destroying her,” Tyler says about how he felt about Meghan’s phone call in the docuseries.

Tyler Helped The Couple To Move To His House In California
Perry said that the couple wanted to be free. “They wanted to be free to love and be happy. They did not have a plan … there was no plan,” he added. The actor understood Meghan’s helplessness and decided to help her. He offered the duo his mansion in California, which he promised to be safe and away from the media. The couple, their son Archie and Meghan’s mother moved to Terry’s house without anyone knowing including Harry’s family.
The couple lived in the mansion for six weeks. However the public found out about their location from the media and the place had been filled with people “I’ve been in that house for many, many, many years,” Perry said. “And across the canyon are all these other celebrities, and no one had seen an assault like this,” he added. The couple has been grateful to Tyler and made him Lilibet’s godfather after her birth in 2021.
