There are a multitude of new titles awaiting the royal members. It was on August 4 that Buckingham Palace and King Charles III announced new military appointments for nine members of the royal family. The members already have an array of titles but a new range of military affiliations will also be added to their names.
The King, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess of Wales, Prince Edward; Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, Prince Richard, and Birgette, the Duchess of Gloucester will all be awarded their new titles. The new appointments are going to be reflective of the connection between the Royal Family and the Armed Forces. Here’s more.

New Titles Presented To Royal Family Members
The 41-year-old Kate Middleton will become the Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm, Colonel-in-Chief of the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards, and Royal Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Coningsby. The last title is much sentimental to the Princess as one of her grandfathers served in the Royal Air Force.
According to Hello!, Captain Peter Middleton had accompanied Prince Philip in 1962 during an aerial tour of South America. In addition, the Prince of Wales also flew as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot from 2010 to 2013 at the RAF Valley in Wales.
Prince William has also been given three appointments. The Duke of Cambridge will take up the titles of Colonel-in-Chief, The Mercian Regiment; Colonel-in-Chief, The Army Air Corps; and Royal Honorary Air Commodore, RAF Valley, where he had previously been a pilot.

King Charles Will Also Ascend New Titles
King Charles III will also take up more military titles. The King will be Sponsor of the HMS Queen Elizabeth, Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Tank Regiment, Captain General of the Royal Artillery, Captain General of the Honourable Artillery Company, Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Marham and Air Commodore-in-Chief of RAF Regiment.
The 76-year-old Queen Camilla will become the patron of The Royal Army Chaplains’ Department. She will also act as the Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Lancers, Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles, and Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.
