Prince Philip’s “Spiteful” Nickname For Meghan Markle Revealed

Out of all the members of the Royal Family, Meghan Markle is known to have the most strained relationships with the members of the establishment. As her relationship with Kate Middleton, Prince William, and the late Queen Elizabeth herself has been revealed in the past, it seems she also wasn’t in the good books of Prince Philip.

A new biography reveals that Prince Philip had a ‘spiteful’ nickname for the Duchess. Here’s what it was.

The Duke Of Edinburgh apparently had a spiteful nickname for Meghan Markle, and it will be revealed in a book UK royal family biographer Ingrid Seward is writing – as per reports.

Prince Philip apparently referred to Meghan Markle as “The Duchess Of Windsor”, alluding to American socialite Wallis Simpson who led a contentious life.

Philip’s perspective on Markle is explored in the upcoming book ‘My Mother And I‘, which draws similarities between the two ladies. Seward said Philip thought it “uncanny” how much Markle resembled Wallis Simpson.

Philip appears to have had an impression of Markle shaped by the background of Wallis Simpson’s 1937 marriage to Edward VIII following his resignation from the British monarchy. Markle married film producer Trevor Engelson in 2011 and the two separated in 2014. Like Simpson, she had entered the royal family as a divorced woman.

According to Seward’s biography, Meghan was initially liked by the Queen. After getting introduced to her in 2017, she approved of the actress as her granddaughter. This opinion, however, was changed during her marriage to Prince Harry.

For the wedding, Markle donned a beautiful white gown which the Queen didn’t approve of because it was “too white” as Meghan was a divorcee.

However, another source claims that the Queen had unfavorable opinions of Meghan right from the first meeting. She apparently described the Duchess as “evil”.

The source said, “At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as evil.”

Over time it has been revealed by different sources and Meghan and Harry themselves that the royal family didn’t really get along with Meghan as much as they did with Kate Middleton.
