The royal family never granted privacy to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The royal institution itself recruits the media to capture the daily affairs of the royal family. The couple decided to step back from their royal duties due to a lack of privacy and media intrusion and shifted to the US.
However, the States also did not grant relief to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry! Recently, the couple, as per the admission of the security, dodged a fatal accident. The Duke and Duchess had a “near catastrophic” paparazzi car chase in New York similar to that of Princess Diana.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Had A Near Fatal Paparazzi Car Chase In New York
Princess Diana died in an unfortunate car crash in Paris in 1997. The paparazzi chased her for a picture with her then-boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, before the accident. Her son and daughter-in-law could have met a similar fate in New York recently. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended an honorary gala where Markle received the Women of Vision Award.
When the couple was leaving Ziegfeld Ballroom, paparazzi started a “chaotic” car chase, which would have led to “fatalities.” A security personnel talked to CNN about the chase and said that he had never seen anything like what he witnessed. Chris Sanchez said, “I have never seen or experienced anything like this. What we were dealing with was very chaotic. There were about a dozen vehicles: cars, scooters, and bicycles.”
Sanchez continued, “The public were in jeopardy at several points. It could have been fatal. They were jumping curbs and red lights. At one point they blocked the limousine (carrying the couple) and started taking pictures until we were able to get out.” He chronicled the madness that unfurled, which included cars going on pavements, reversing on a one-way street, and photographers trying to click pictures in a running car. At one point, Meghan, Harry, and her mother, Doria Ragland, opted for a yellow-cab taxi.

The Cab Driver Carrying Them Refused The Catastrophic Chase Claims
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hopped onto a taxi at 67th Street, between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue. The BBC interviewed the cab driver, Sukcharn Singh. He narrated, “A security guard hailed me, next thing you know, Prince Harry and his wife were hopping into my cab.”
Singh continued, “As we went a block, we got blocked by a garbage truck and all of a sudden paparazzi came and started taking pictures. They were just about to give me the location of where they were going to go, but then they told me to circle back to the precinct.”
However, Sukcharn Singh denies the fatality and catastrophic chase claims and deems them exaggerated. He said there were no traces or instances of the paparazzi being “aggressive.” He continued, “New York is the safest place to be – there’s police stations, cops on every corner. [The paparazzi] were behind us… they kept their distance.”
The New York Police Department informed, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination, and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.” The incident “scared and exhausted” the couple.
