Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been on a tell-all spree since they stepped down from their royal duties. They have been busy giving interviews, releasing a Netflix docu-series, and writing a memoir. One of the major talking points has been Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana.
Recently, the Duke of Sussex took part in a virtual book event to talk about his mother. He said she “felt the same” as he does, stating that they always felt different from the rest of the Royal family. So let’s find out in detail what the prince said about lady Diana.
Prince Harry Talks About His Late Mother Princess Diana
Prince Harry revealed many things in his Netflix docu-series ‘Harry & Meghan‘ and his memoir ‘Spare.’ The latter went on to become one of the most successful non-fiction books in recent times.
In a recently held virtual book event, the Duke of Sussex talked about his relationship with his mother, the late Princess Diana. “Certainly throughout my life, throughout my younger years, I always felt slightly different to the rest of my family,” he said.
He added: “I felt strange being in this container, and I know that my mum felt the same. It makes sense to me — it didn’t make sense at the time — I felt as though my body was in there, but my head was out, but sometimes it was vice-versa.”

Harry Believes She Faked Her Own Death
On 31 August 1997, Diana died in a car crash inside a tunnel. In his memoir, Harry talks about how he felt that she faked her own death to escape the constant media scrutiny.
Prince Harry and William would drive through the Pont de l’Alma tunnel to revisit their mother’s final moments. They often talked about the memories they shared with her.
Harry felt it was a trick, and “for once the trick wasn’t being played by the people around me, or the press, but by Mummy. Her life’s been miserable, she’s been hounded, harassed, lied about, lied to. So she’s staged an accident as a diversion and run away,” he wrote.
