The fans are anxiously awaiting ‘Dexter: Resurrection’, and a recent behind-the-scenes update may have provided a few interesting clues about what is to come. While production on season 2 is still underway, one image shared from the editing room has already sparked speculation that some familiar characters could be making unexpected returns.
For a franchise that relies on secrets, surprises, and ghosts from Dexter Morgan’s past, even the tiniest of details can make fans go into detective mode.
Season 2 Could Bring Back Two Key ‘Dexter’ Characters In Unexpected Ways

Director and producer Marcos Siega posted a progress update on ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ season 2 from the editing stage. The post seemed like a normal production milestone at first glance. However, eagle-eyed fans soon spotted several character photos in the background.

One of them seemed to be a familiar name, the long-time Miami Metro detective, Angel Batista, who died in season 1. With what has happened to Batista, a traditional return is unlikely to occur. However, Dexter has a long history of seeing the dead in his vision, his mind, and talking to his conscience.
The mere possibility has fans wondering if Batista can still influence Dexter after he’s gone. Another striking image seemed to include the serial killer known as ‘Rapunzel’ Al Walker.
Al was introduced in the first season and became one of the most memorable Dexter villains of all time by somehow getting away from Dexter. However, Al’s story isn’t over, as Dexter doesn’t leave things unfinished.
Bigger Threats Are Waiting For Dexter In New York

Those characters that come back are just a few appearances, but season 2 already sounds like it’s going to be full of danger. The series continues with its New York setting and adds to Dexter’s formidable cast of new players.

The most awaited additions are Brian Cox as the feared New York Ripper and Dan Stevens as the mysterious Five Borough Killer. Those names alone would indicate that Dexter may be up against some of the toughest challenges of his career.
Meanwhile, Uma Thurman’s Charley Brown should be back after the events of season 1. There’s still plenty of room for new fights in her unfinished story, particularly Dexter’s knack for bringing them to him.
The exciting thing about this new production update is that it brings back the memory of how Dexter’s production lays clues. Sometimes all it takes is a simple picture from the editing room. Other times, it’s the first sign of a big twist just around the corner.
Until now, viewers can only guess, but one thing is clear: Dexter Morgan’s past is not over yet.
