Dexter Sol Ansell, who played Egg in ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘, had a sweet and serious answer when he was asked what he would say to Egg if he could speak to him during a recent interview.
Even though the actor didn’t go for any spoilers, his answer still gave fans something to look forward to. And, if you have listened to it carefully, there might be some hidden clues for the next season.
Dexter Sol Ansell Reveals The Message He’d Give To Egg For ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Season 2

During a recent Awards Buzz interview, Dexter Sol Ansell was praised for his role as Egg in ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘. The interviewer then moved to a question about Egg himself. They asked, “So my question is, if you, Dexter, could speak to Egg after embodying him over these stories so far, and could give him advice, a warning, or a comforting message, what would you love to tell him if only you could?”.

The question gave Dexter a chance to think beyond the usual conversations about filming and future episodes. Instead of giving a quick answer, he paused and tried to find the right thing to say to the character. Dexter took a moment before answering. He said, “Well, I’d say… The castle at Summerhall. I’d say the castle at Summerhall. I’d say… Oh… I’d say… That’s a hard one.”
Before giving his final advice, Dexter said, “I’d ask him how he shaves his hair.” The interviewer asked, “How do you think he shaves his hair? How do you think he does it?” Dexter replied, “With a rock.” Dexter then explained the joke a little more. He said, “I reckon he’s very perfectionist, but I don’t know how he gets the back, because I don’t think mirrors existed.” The interviewer suggested, “Maybe his ser helps him with it.” Dexter answered, “Maybe. Yeah, I’d love to ask him that.”
After the joke, Dexter gave a more heartfelt answer. He said, “And then I’d tell him to not go back, whatever he does, never go back, but to always be grateful for Dunk, and really appreciate Dunk.” This brings our focus back to Egg’s bond with Dunk, which is one of the most important parts of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘. Dexter also stressed why Egg should value Dunk so much. He added, “Because he’s done so much for him.”
Dexter Sol Ansell Hints At Egg’s Bigger Journey Ahead

Besides the message Dexter shared for Egg, he also didn’t shy away from sharing some hints of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘ Season 2. When the interviewer asked him what he’s most excited about, he said, “The action.” Dexter added, “I’ve got a bit more action, and I’m really excited for everyone to see it.” This gives fans a small hint that Egg may get more active scenes in the next season.

The actor also spoke about the work behind the scenes. When asked, “Do you do a lot of choreography? Do you have people who are teaching you things?” Dexter nodded, “Yeah. We’ve got some great, great teams, and they’re all absolutely amazing, and it’s going good.” If Egg gets more action in Season 2, fans may see him face situations that test his courage, loyalty, and bond with Dunk in new ways.
Season 2 also gives Dexter’s tease about “The action” more context. The next chapter of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ will adapt George R.R. Martin’s second novella, ‘The Sworn Sword‘. The story follows Dunk and Egg as they enter the service of the aging and poor Ser Eustace Osgrey at his crumbling stronghold, Standfast.
However, their journey soon pulls them into a bitter land and water dispute in the drought-stricken Reach. On one side is Ser Eustace, and on the other side is his wealthy and powerful neighbor, Lady Rohanne Webber. Dunk also finds himself caught up in a complicated, flirtatious dynamic with Lady Rohanne while trying to resolve a conflict.
The story also connects deeply to the aftermath of the first Blackfyre Rebellion. Ser Eustace is a broken man who chose the wrong side, and the season is expected to explore that history through the Battle of the Redgrass Field. For Egg, this could mean more than just traveling beside Dunk. Since he is secretly Prince Aegon Targaryen, his hidden royal identity may create more trouble as he becomes involved in the action, schemes, and struggles of common people.
