According to a Variety report, a prequel series centered around the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen is currently under development. The report mentions that the series is in its initial stage with discussions going around regarding showrunners and writers.
Both HBO and Warner Bros are planning a feature film that would lead into a television series. It would focus on Aegon and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys. The three marched into Westeros with their dragons and conquered six of the seven kingdoms in the region.

King Aegon I Targaryen, also known as Aegon the Conqueror or Aegon the Dragon, is a major character in the fantasy world created by George R. R. Martin. He was the first king of Westeros.
