After the closing episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, viewers reached a teary catharsis. However, when HBO announced the spin-off series ‘House of Dragons’, the excitement for empires, politics, romance, war, and dragons was rejuvenated. The series is set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. King’s Landing struggled with choosing an heir after the death of two sons, and Princess Rhaenys was named Queen of the Iron Throne. However, the political tension did not subside. After much drama, fire, and fighting people are left again with a cliffhanger.
Fans enjoy the behind-the-scenes pictures where the actors are seen having fun while shooting. The royals play with props, take animated pictures in robes, and hang out in bars after work. Let’s compare the salaries received by the actors of both series.
Salaries Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ And ‘House Of The Dragon’ Cast
Firstly picking up the ‘Game of Thrones’, let’s cover the prominent cast of the series. Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) were paid a whopping $500,000 for each episode. Before the show became a hit they were paid less than $300,000 for each episode. The bar of the contract increased after the George R. R. Martin franchise took flight.
Therefore we can only assume the remuneration of the cast of the prequel series. According to Wifi Of Nerds, ‘House of Dragons’ actors get more than $300,000. The ‘Game of Thrones’ cast was paid less at first because of the risk of the new franchise. But the ‘House of Dragons’ is a prequel to an already successful franchise. The target audience was already a settled fanbase.

HBO’s Chief Content Officer, Cassey Bloys in talking with Vulture revealed when we should expect the succeeding season of ‘House of Dragons’. And, unfortunately, she said, “Don’t expect it in ’23, but I think sometime in ’24.” The long wait is due to the more intense computer-generated Battle of dragons that more episodes of the next season will feature. So what should we expect from season two?
At the end of season one we see Rhaenyra flying off on her dragon and other leaving on their respective quests. According to the book, the next season will start with Jace while he tries to bring in supporters for his mother. And in his travels, he shall also visit Winterfell. It says that Rhaenyra should be assured of support from the North’s Lady Jayne. Jayne and she were unbreakable sisters before so her faithfulness can be trusted. Daemon on the other hand cannot. The revelation of the dream to him almost broke the prince down. He can be expected to be reaching the verge of madness for being left of being selected for the throne.
