The Cooper family is officially back together, and fans are feeling all the emotions. A brand-new episode of ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘ is bringing multiple ‘Young Sheldon‘ actors back together.
In the episode, George Cooper Sr. should no longer be part of the franchise timeline. Still, behind-the-scenes clips now show Lance Barber back alongside Mary, Missy, and Georgie, turning the upcoming installment into a reunion viewers immediately felt nostalgic about.
Lance Barber’s Cameo Sparks A Full ‘Young Sheldon’ Reunion

Barber is set to guest star in episode 18 of season 2 of ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘, and his arrival instantly transforms the episode into a mini ‘Young Sheldon‘ gathering. The episode reunited the Cooper family on screen, with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment leading the spinoff. On February 10, Revord posted a TikTok featuring Barber and Jordan.
She flips off the camera, Barber mouths “so sorry,” and Jordan steps in mouthing “no we ain’t,” while I Love Rock ’n’ Roll plays in the background. She captioned the video, “Family dynamics.”

The writers’ Instagram page shared another clip showing Perry, Revord, and Jordan sitting on a couch before the camera pans to Barber. A viral Dance Moms rant about hearing an “agitating, grating voice” plays over the video, and the trio bursts into laughter. The caption referenced George Sr.’s death by joking, “He is risen.” Barber already guest-starred once in season 1, even though George Cooper Sr. died of a heart attack in Young Sheldon, something long established in The Big Bang Theory.
How Is George Back After His Death?

George Cooper Sr.’s death was established in ‘Young Sheldon‘ and had long been part of The Big Bang Theory canon. Still, Barber previously appeared in season one of the spinoff when Georgie had fever dreams and saw visions of his father. EW confirmed that he will return in episode 18 of season two, though the details are being kept under wraps.

Montana Jordan admitted it feels strange not having Barber at the head of the dining table during family scenes. “Anytime that we get to have any of the Cooper family back on set, it’s always a blast,” he shared. “We had a great family dynamic behind the scenes on that show, as we do on this show. So anytime we can bring them back, we’re always welcoming them.”
The Cooper family magic is still very much alive. Whether it is flashbacks or something unexpected, George Sr.’s return is already giving fans nostalgia and the right amount of heart. Barber’s return turns the episode into a celebration of the original ensemble, even if only briefly.
