The Spanish version of ‘Money Heist’ made such a wave around the world after its first two seasons. The authority and power that these robbers held amazed the world. The gang called out through the series an age-old idea. How the poor and desperate remain unacknowledged of the fact that they are plundered by the rich and powerful.
The Korean version of the drama series also came out in June named, ‘Money Heist: Korea-Joint Economic Area‘. The series received mixed responses. But it ranked No.1 on Netflix’s weekly Global Top 10 chart in the non-English TV category from June to July. It had been streamed for about 49 million hours. Though a remake, the drama did have some differences from the original.

How Different Is The Korean Version Of Money Heist?
There are some changes in the way in which the story generally progresses. It is set in the near future of 2025. The two Koreas are on their way to reunification. Thus an area is established as the Joint Economic Area for the economic development of the two countries. This setting is one major difference seen because in the Spanish version the first robbery takes place in Royal Mint.
Season 1 of ‘Money Heist’ Korea is a condensed version of the first two seasons of the Spanish TV series. Since two seasons were being cramped into a single one, there were reductions in many parts. The plot was compressed and the romance was also reduced. The focus was mainly on the couple- the professor and police inspector and Denver and the hostage.
The Spanish counterpart had put forward a Tokyo who was a free-spirited and unreliable teammate. But the Korean character played by Jeon is unconditionally devoted to the professor and is so much interested in not hurting anyone.
