Lionsgate’s new venture into the John Wick universe with the upcoming series has fans very excited. The series is reported to be written by ‘The Old Man’ co-creator Robert Levine. Keanu Reeves, who is the face of the franchise, has signed up as executive producer.

The storyline is set after the events of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. It will pick up where the 2023 movie ended, wherein John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a tenuous position. A set of new characters are also likely to be introduced, while some of the franchise stalwart characters remain committed to the old-world order.

At the end of the movie, John Wick and fellow assassin Caine are shown to have won their freedom from the High Table and Winston gets reinstatement of Hotel Manager of the rebuilt New York Continental. So it is likely that the series will show what the characters face after escaping the High Table.

The movie also presumed that John Wick was dead. So that will be an interesting angle to explore in the series.

A post-credit scene also teased a confrontation between Caine and Akira. Sources reveal that the series will have a connection to a John Wick spinoff movie about Caine. Independently, a fifth John Wick movie is in the making, along another spin-off series ‘Ballerina’ which stars Ana De Armas.
