‘Legally Blonde’ TV Series Being Developed By Reese Witherspoon: All You Need To Know

Legally Blonde was loved for several reasons. However, one of the main reasons behind the movie’s success was its protagonist, Elle Woods, portrayed by Reese Witherspoon. Elle broke stereotypes by being a fashionable and determined young woman who defied expectations. 

Additionally, the movie’s themes of female empowerment and standing up for oneself resonated with audiences, making it a beloved classic. So, with the movie being loved by everyone, it’s not a surprise that it’s getting another sequel.

Actress Reese Witherspoon known for her iconic character Elle Woods in ‘Legally Blonde’ will bring back the franchise this time as a TV series. It was recently revealed that Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine is behind the series alongside Amazon MGM studios.

Moreover, the series is set to be a spin-off of the original film. The show will be directed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage who have previously worked on another iconic TV series Gossip Girl’.

All About The ‘Legally Blonde’ Franchise

Legally Blonde’ spawned several sequels and spinoffs. The first one which was two years after the movie was ‘Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.’ This sequel follows Elle Woods as she heads to Washington, D.C. to fight for animal rights. While not as beloved and iconic as the original, it still maintains the charm and humor of the first film.

The second sequel came out in 2007 titled ‘Legally Blonde: The Musical’. Based on the original film, this Broadway musical adaptation became a hit, receiving positive reviews and multiple awards. The third movie ‘Legally Blondes’ is a direct-to-video spinoff that focuses on Elle Woods’ young cousins, Annie and Izzy. Despite the previous sequels not being as iconic as the original film was, fans are still excited about the upcoming series.
