‘The Vampire Dairies‘ is based upon a book written by L.J. Smith the same name and is a teen thriller drama series. The show came to an end in 2017 leaving the fans devasted by Stefan’s death. Mystic Falls In ‘The Vampire Diaries’
Mystic Falls is an active and happening town set in Virginia with a rich supernatural history. The 70s dance, The Founder’s day, the decade dance, the masquerade ball, and gruesome murders tempt the fans to visit. Mystic Grill is a popular restaurant for the locals and Wickery Bridge, marks the beginning of trouble and makes the fan visit the place to experience an epic Vampire love drama. This town carries a lot of dark secrets and the blood of thousands of massacred witches since the beginning of time.
Mystic Falls is the birthplace of the Original Vampires and the place where werewolves resided for many centuries. Initially, the vampires and werewolves lived in harmony, but due to unexpected events something horrible happened. The witches spelled the curse, making the vampires slaves of the sun and the werewolves servants of the moon. The Founding Families, descended from the original settlers laid the foundation for the town. Their secret mission was to protect the town from vampires and werewolves. Journals of the Founding Families members describing vampires and guiding how to catch and kill them are passed down through subsequent generations.

Is Mystic Falls a Real Place?
Unfortunately for the fans, Mystic Falls is just a fictional place, not a real one. Primarily, Covington, Georgia served as the filming location for season one. According to Explore Georgia, Vampire Stalkers run the Mystic Falls Tour as well as the tours that focus on the spin-off show The Originals.
Mystic Fall Tours, run for fans, by the fans. Guests are given unrivaled access to the filming locations of “The Vampire Diaries” from the first season to the final season. This is the only tour that allows into the Lockwood Mansion where scenes like the masquerade ball took place. The tour also includes the Gilbert House and the Mystic Falls Courthouse. As The Vampire Diaries took the world by storm, locals of Covington came together to build tourism around the show’s success. The Mystic Grill is a product of their efforts and is a must-try restaurant for the town’s visitors. The atmosphere and food are as unique as the TV show’s intriguing storyline.
