‘Haikyuu!!‘ is one of the most popular sports anime. The manga goes by the same name. It is written by Haruichi Furudate. The first chapter was released in February 2012 and the final chapter was released after 8 long years in 2020. The manga got its anime adaptation in 2014 and from there 4 more seasons were released as the anime was a huge success. The anime currently has four seasons and fans are hoping for a new season.
The plot of ‘Haikyuu!! ‘is as follows. A young boy Hinata, who is not exceptionally tall, dreams of playing volleyball, a sport that demands height. He enrols in Karasuno high school in hopes of joining their team, this is the same school where his idol played. He joins the team successfully and his adventures begin from there.
Who Is Hinata Shoyo?
Hinata Shoyo is the main character of the anime ‘Haikyuu!! ‘. He is the middle blocker of the Karasuno volleyball team and dons the number 10 jersey, which also happens to be his idol The little giant’s jersey number when he played for Karasuno. Hinata has unkempt orange hair and brown eyes. He is not short but he is short when compared to the rest of the volleyball players he associates himself with apart from Nishinoya.
Personality-wise, Hinata is loud and bubbly. He has that happy-go-lucky personality but he is quite serious when it comes to volleyball. He is extremely tenacious and does not give up easily. He is also the surprise attacker for Karasuno high. Every player who plays against their team gets stunned by Hinata’s jumping prowess. Due to him and Kageyama, Karasuno ranked amongst the top 8 national teams in Japan.
Does Hinata Play Volleyball After High School?
The simple answer to this question is yes. Hinata continues playing volleyball after he graduates high school. He moves to Brazil to learn how to play volleyball better and there he is spotted by a former Shiratorizawa player who offers him a coaching position in a school. There he learns to play volleyball and runs into Oikawa who he befriends and spends a lot of time with. He also partners up with Heitor Santana and the two of them play together and win a lot of matches. After two years, he returns to Japan.
There he joins the MSBY Black Jackals and teams up with Bokuto, Sakusa and Atsumu. Later on, the Black Jackals play against the Schweiden Adlers. The Adlers consist of Ushijima, Hoshiumi, and Kageyama. That match turned out to be the final match shown in the manga. From there, both Hinata and Kageyama are selected for the national team for the 2021 Olympics.
