Frieza in ‘Dragon Ball‘ is one of those characters who are naturally strong. As infuriating as it is, he has always been a formidable foe for Goku and his teammates. However, it is his training that made him go from formidable to near impossible to beat.

What Is The Golden Frieza?
The Golden Frieza is a transformation akin to the Super Saiyan and the Super Saiyan god transformation. Frieza has always been a strong character, so he never had any reason or motivation to train and further hone his skills. He was easily able to defeat any opponents that were foolish enough to challenge him.
However, that was before he came across Goku and his friends. Although he was winning first, the Super Saiyan transformations put him out of the winning spot and he was thoroughly humbled. Frieza felt humiliated and started training to get better.
It was after he trained for some time that he unlocked one of the most powerful transformations ever. Frieza’s race always could suppress their power, but this transformation revealed that they can also increase their power similar to a Saiyan.
This particular transformation made Frieza frighteningly strong. And as it turns out, Frieza had the power to choose the color of the transformation, and owing to his flashy and loud personality, he chose golden. And hence, this transformation was known as the Golden Frieza.
How Strong Is It?
Frieza in his normal form was hard for the heroes to defeat, but Golden Frieza showed that they had it easy. Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan forms were enough for the regular Frieza and it was easier for them to defeat him.
However, Golden Frieza is not that easy to defeat. In his golden form, Frieza was easily able to defeat Goku in his Super Saiyan god mode. In addition to that, he was able to fight toe to toe with Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms.
He lost that battle as he was unable to control that form properly. However, that one battle made it clear that he was as powerful as super Saiyan Blue. But that is not the scary part, the scary part is that he still has the potential to grow. This is how strong Golden Frieza really is.
