What Is Spirit Control?
Spirit control as the name suggests is a manipulation technique for a person’s Ki. It is primarily unique to the Yardrats, but others can learn it as well. Spirit control works by splitting, reforming, and growing a person’s spirit. This leads to the person becoming much stronger and more focused and it leads to many of their attacks becoming stronger.
A person who uses spirit control can use instant transmission, spirit fission, cloning, and many other abilities. Once a person can use this ability perfectly, they can sense other people’s Ki from a great distance. Controlling the ability, however, is tricky business. In the early stages of learning the ability, the person is not able to manipulate the energy according to them and often loses control. For instance, Vegeta wished to shoot a small finger beam but instead shot a big energy ball.
How Did Vegeta Learn It?
Goku learned this particular technique much before Vegeta did. Goku went to the Yardrats after the Frieza arc. He managed to learn the technique and use instant transmission. This move quickly became a signature move for him.
Vegeta on the other hand learned the move in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. He, like Goku, approached the Yardrats and learned the technique from them. Vegeta’s abilities also grew much stronger after he learned spirit control. He also managed to use the instant transmission but seemed to dislike it and said that he won’t use it again.
The one move that Vegeta used after learning spirit control would be spirit fission, or to be accurate forced spirit fission. This ability tears apart things and beings that were linked together either by absorption or through fusion. The downside of this ability is that it can only work against certain opponents and cannot be used in every situation. This is what spirit control is and how Vegeta learned it.
