In most animes, we often find a character who plays the role of a cupid or a wingman. Their role is very crucial as they support and push forth our ships to their happy endings. Here is Given, the story of four individuals is narrated. The four characters are – Sato Mafuyu, Ritsuka Uenoyama, Haruki Nakayama, and Akihiko Kaji.
ll of them play important roles in each other’s life, even playing the little cupid games. All of them go through certain character changes that are evident in the story. More importantly, here in ‘Given’ we get to see the story from both angles. They challenge their challenges and ultimately get the happiness they deserve.

How Did Haruki Play Cupid In Mafuyu’s Love Story In ‘Given’?
Yes, you bet he did. Haruki played a vital role at the end of the Given series. No one there dared to take a step between Mafuyu and Uenoyama when they both fought. Haruki handles the situation flawlessly and says the words that they needed to hear the most.
During the argument, Mafuyu broke the cords of his guitar. It seemed to indicate that Uenoyama just broke the cord of their relationship. Haruki snooped in between and stated that if a cord is broken you can fix it with a new one. It also symbolized Mafuyu letting go of his past to be together with the present.

Who Played Cupid In Haruki’s Love Story?
Just like Haruki helped soothe the hot atmosphere between Mafuyu and Uenoyama, this time Mafuyu got the chance to help. When Haruki was about to give up, Mafuyu questioned Haruki if this is truly what he wants. Mafuyu’s question jolted the former into thinking carefully about what he wanted.
The question didn’t even need an answer as all worries and doubts ran away once Haruki saw Akihiko outside of his door waiting. Even later in the movie, it was Mafuyu’s song that gave the courage to both Akihiko and Ugetsu to move forward and be free from shackles.
When everything’s sorted out, Mafuyu took Haruki to Akihiko’s violin concert. This was the last move he made to make both of them realize how much they missed each other. Later after the show, Akihiko confesses his love for Haruki and they officially start dating together.
