Goku and Vegeta are two names that everyone who watches anime has heard. They are two of the most popular anime characters of all time. They are the epitome of enemies turned rivals turned frenemies. Vegeta and Goku have a long-standing rivalry and it has yet to be concluded. Let’s see if Goku has managed to defeat Vegeta in the entire franchise.

Who Are Goku And Vegeta?
Goku is the main character of the ‘Dragon Ball‘ franchise and is one of the strongest characters in the series. He is a Saiyan who was sent to earth and was then adopted. He is nothing like the other Saiyans and does not have their temper. He is polite, sweet, and extremely well-mannered. He has trained for almost all his life and as a result is one of the strongest mortal characters in the series, if not the strongest.
Vegeta is the Saiyan prince and the son of King Vegeta. True to his princely nature, Vegeta used to be an extremely egotistical, cold-blooded, and ruthless warrior. He considers Goku his competition and wanted to kill him in the past.
However, he has since simmered down. He is currently married to Bulma and has kids. He has chosen to stay on the earth to protect it from enemies and malicious forces. However, he still considers Goku as his competition.
Has Goku Ever Defeated Vegeta In ‘Dragon Ball’?
Although based on power levels, Goku is stronger than Vegeta, he has never been able to defeat him. Goku and Vegeta have only fought a handful of times in the long-running franchise. When he first came to earth, he took on Goku and defeated him. He then again defeated him with his ape form after Gohan was born.
Majin Vegeta managed to knock Goku out when Goku let his guard down. The only instance any variation of Goku managed to defeat Vegeta was when Vegeta fought the alternate world Goku who was possessed by Zamasu. But that may not count as he technically wasn’t the real Goku as he was possessed.
‘Dragon Ball‘ has been running for a long period and there is no telling when there will be a conclusion to this rivalry. But fans are hoping for a conclusive fight between the two.
