Is ‘Fairy Tail’ A Spinoff Of ‘Rave Master’?
Well technically speaking, no! They are completely different animes, set in their own universe of magic. It’s true that there are similarities between both, but it’s simply due to our favorite writer. Mashima has a tendency to seek help from his previous works, which results in his stories and characters being identical.
He himself has also agreed to this and has tried to change his habit, but as of now, it’s now showing. Anyways, ‘Fairy Tail’ came after ‘Rave Master’ ended. The Rave Master follows the journey of Haru Glory as he overcomes challenges to fulfill his duty and maintain world peace. Undoubtedly, magic plays a crucial role in both sections.

‘Fairy Tail’ x ‘Rave’
One can better identify them as stories set in alternate dimensions, like Edolas in ‘Fairy Tail’. If you make sense like that, then their combined series makes perfect sense. They are shown crossing each other, bickering, fighting, and chilling all the same.
Natsu and Lucy do stumble into Glory’s universe and later both help each other out. It’s an OVA series where the crossover has been beautifully portrayed. For some fans the OVA wasn’t enough, so we can only hope to see more of these crossovers in the near future, where all our beloved characters will hurdle together.
