‘Pokémon’ is one of the most popular anime of all time. The anime ran for a total of 25 years and garnered a lot of support and love from the fans. The fans were quite sad to hear about the ending of Ash’s journey, but were placated by the fact that the series didn’t end. One thing however that the fans are very curious about, is the fate of Team Rocket.
Team Rocket was as much a part of the series as Ash was and were some of the most popular characters of the anime. Fans wish to know whether the trio would be in the ‘Pokémon Horizons: The Series’.

Who Is Team Rocket?
Team Rocket served as the primary antagonist in the original ‘Pokémon’ series. The team was a trio, with Jessie, James, and Meowth, the Pokémon. The trio works under a man named Giovanni. The main aim of their organization is to capture rare Pokémon that will help Giovanni achieve his plans for world domination.
The trio first encountered Ash Ketchum when they were in Viridian City. They were trying to steal Pokémon there. Ash fought them to stop them and won. They saw Ash and Pikachu’s power and ever since then, were focused on stealing Pikachu.
The trio consists of Jessie, who is a girl with long pink hair. Jessie has a somewhat dominating personality. She also has a short temper and is in the habit of underestimating her opponents, which often backfires on her. The second member is James. James is a guy with blue hair. He is quite serious and calm and often listens to Jessie. He also came from a very rich family. The last member is Meowth who is a Pokémon. Meowth suffered a lot when he was younger and decided to learn to speak like humans. This is why he is the only Pokémon who can speak.
Are They In ‘Pokémon Horizons’?
Unfortunately for all the Team Rocket lovers, the trio is not in the new Pokémon series, ‘Pokémon Horizons’. In the last few episodes of the original series, the three tried to capture Pikachu for the last time but again failed like they had each time before. The three of them were seen arguing and storming off in different directions. It seemed like the three of them had disbanded. But in the episode after that, they were seen laughing together.
Therefore, as it seems, the trio hasn’t disbanded yet. But they most definitely are not in the new series. The new antagonist of the series is a man named Amethio. Amethio is a member of an organization called the Explorers. The organization aims to steal Liko’s pendant. Therefore, it seems like Team Rocket has been replaced by the Explorers in the anime. However, they cannot be replaced in the hearts of the viewers.
