‘Naruto’: What Happened To Anko After The Events Of Original Series?

Anko Mitarashi was a popular supporting character that fans grew to love during the original ‘Narutoanime. However, after the events of Part 1, she didn’t have as big of a role. Many fans wondered what happened to her character after the time skip.

Anko’s backstory involved being a former student of the villainous Orochimaru. She bore the curse mark that he gave her and struggled with controlling its power. This led to an intense rivalry with her former master that spanned the entirety of Part 1. However, after the time skip between Naruto and Shippuden, she took more of a backseat role.

During the events of Part 2, Anko did make some appearances but had a reduced involvement in the main plot. She led the infiltration and reconnaissance party tasked with finding Kabuto Yakushi.

This group was the first to discover the reanimation jutsu that Kabuto was using. Anko confronted Kabuto but was quickly defeated by him. Kabuto then kept her comatose and siphoned the chakra from her curse mark to power his jutsu.

Later during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke revived Orochimaru from Anko’s curse mark using the Impure World Reincarnation technique. This caused the curse mark to disappear from her body.

She remained unconscious for the rest of the war. While she didn’t have a huge role, these appearances did further her rivalry with Orochimaru and Kabuto to an extent.

Following the conclusion of the war and the start of the new era under Naruto and his generation, Anko took on a new role as an instructor at the Konoha Ninja Academy. This was shown 10 years after the war ended.

She helped train the next generation of shinobi like Boruto and Sarada. Anko played a part in teaching the students ninjutsu and evaluating their skills. She seems to have settled down from her days as an active kunoichi and taken more of a guidance/mentorship role for the future of the village.

Fans got to see where her character went after the events of Part 1.
