The Ohara Incident – The Beginning of Tragedy
The Ohara Incident, popularly known as the Annihilation of the Ohara, is a messed-up story that burned down many lives on West Blue island. The Ohara island was resided by a group of researchers who secretly carried out their works to know more about the Void Century.
Robin’s parents were one of those researchers. Though the residents thought they covered their trails, the Marines came to know of their work. They ransacked their research works, ultimately burning the whole island with it. The Marines used the Buster Call (a form of action where a group of marine ships attacks a particular destination together, bombing it).
It resulted in the eradication of the island along with its residents and the Tree of Knowledge. Robin’s parents were victims of the incident, with her being the only survivor. Vice Admiral Jaguar D. Saul opposed the Marines’ idea of using the Buster Call. Shortly afterward, he found himself washed up on the shores of Ohara and befriended Robin.
He even sacrificed his life to save Robin, making him the traitor to the Marines. As he died, Robin escaped on a boat, marking her as the most heinous criminal wanted by the World Government. The officials didn’t want to leave any trace of Oharians, so they put a high bounty on the child. Initially, she struggles to survive, finally finding herself a home in the name of the Straw Hat Pirates.
