‘Reincarnated as a Slime’ is a fascinating story like none other. It portrays the world of magic in a totally different way from our usual anime series. The concept of ‘Words of the World’, being Rimuru’s allies, the goblins, Ogres, Orcs, Elves, and many more makes the series interesting.
Though a light novel, the series has its share of fights, conspiracies, and of course demons. The demon lord indirectly rules the underworld of society. Rimuru at first didn’t particularly feel it necessary to turn into a demon lord, though possessing the strength to do so. Things were smooth sailing, until a tragedy fell, jeopardizing the lives of hundreds of people.

Why Did Rimuru Turn Into A Demon Lord?
Rimuru Tempest, the slime, is forced to make the decision to turn into a demon lord after his whole city gets massacred by humans. When he first stepped into the world of magic, he created three laws for the goblins to follow. One among them was to never hurt humans and be friendly toward them. This very rule led to the horrible events that took place in the future.
While Rimuru was out of town, the human kingdom Falmuth attacked the beast kingdom (Rimuru’s nation), with help from the Holy Land. many lives were lost and among them, one of Rimuru’s close associates Shion loses her life.

How Did He Accomplish The Task?
Though the concept of being a demon lord may seem interesting, the process is not simple at all. To become a demon lord one has to have the required amount of strength and the ‘seed’. Rimuru acquired the seed when he defeated the Orc Lord ‘Disaster’.
He had enough power to become a demon lord considering his abilities. The last thing he needed is the nourishment of the seed. The ‘nourishment’ was 10,000 souls of human beings. Good for him that he got 20,000, more than the required number.
The Falmuth army and the Holy Land sent over allied forces consisting of 20,000 armies. Rimuru totally annihilated them, devouring their souls to become the Demon Lord. Fast forwarding to Rimuru’s battle against Clayman, he becomes the True Demon Lord with astonishing power.
