‘Reincarnated as a Slime’ is a light novel written by Fuse, which got its debut back in 2021. The story involves drama, action, plot, dark humor, and even romance. It’s an unbelievably wonderful story where a regular man dies in his world and reincarnates as slime in another universe.
This new universe mostly operates on a voice that they refer to as the “Voice of the World”, heard by only a selected few. This voice becomes Rimuru’s (the protagonist) friend and guide in his new world. Faced with constant challenges, he finds himself in a family filled with people who love him immensely.

Rimuru’s 12 Guardian Lords In ‘Reincarnated As A Slime’
Though Rimuru is considered one of the most powerful beings, there are even more powerful foes. Some can be considered friends, while some hold malice in them. Rimuru must overcome all his challenges to keep his beloved ones safe and to establish a nation that welcomes all to be together.
In the anime, it is shown that humans have a deep hatred toward demons (Rimuru being one of them). Even among the demons, there’s no harmony. Rimuru being in midst of this ‘Tempest’ wants to form a place that welcomes living beings of all kinds. But the road is not so easy. He treads on a “Road not taken”, but along the way gets his powerful allies to back him up in battles.
Under certain circumstances, Rimuru chooses to become a demon lord. In a position as such, he welcomes 12 demons to serve under him, commonly referred to as 12 Guardians/Executives. He welcomes them all as a friend, and they willingly serve him as their ‘master’.
The transformation of Rimuru and this subordinates from ordinary to the path of ‘demon’ has been portrayed very intricately. The main protectors of Rimuru can be considered one of the most powerful forces in the anime, one of his guardians being a Primordial (the top of the demon race).
‘Flare Lord’ Benimaru
Benimaru is one of his oldest allies among the 12 Guardians, excluding Ranga. He is from the “Ogre” race and later evolves into a Kijin and then into a demon lord. He also holds the position of the Supreme Commander of Jura Tempest.
His extraordinary charisma and strength get him rewarded with True Demon Lord powers after the Eastern Empire war. Rimuru grants him the name “Flame Lord” and he becomes one of Rimuru’s three strongest subordinates.
“Star Lord” Ranga
Ranga is Rimuru’s personal guard and the first being to be included among Rimuru’s executive group. He usually hides in Rimuru’s shadow. His power consists of lightning and storm, and he holds the strength to wipe out half of the army in the battle against the Orcs.
Constantly absorbing Rimuru’s power while being in his shadow, Ranga becomes immensely powerful in the later half of the story. He got named Star Lord Ranga and was offered 100,000 souls as a reward for his actions in the Eastern Empire War.
“Dragon Lord” Gabiru
Gabiru being named Gabiru by Rimuru (the names alongside sounded like a poem, lol) was a funny coincidence that not even the great Demon Lord himself was aware of. Though a bit silly at times, Gabiru is very dedicated to Rimuru and stands alongside every battle Rimuru’s been to.
He’s a Dragonewt who became the head of the aerial forces of Rimuru. After the Eastern Empire war, he was given 100,000 souls and was renamed Dragon Lord Gabiru. He possesses the ultimate gift “Pierott Star” which allows him to change his fate once a day.
“Barrier Lord” Geld
Though once an enemy, Rimuru welcomes him and his troupe to his family. Though he has frequently participated in wars, he was mostly given the role of the Development Leader of Rimuru’s nation. He later became an Awakened Demon Lord, as it was Rimuru’s gift to him.
“War Lord” Shion
The self-proclaimed secretary of Rimuru can be considered one of the most powerful demon lords under him. She beat the crap out of Clayman when he tried to harm Rimuru in a tricky way. Being able to beat a Demon Lord is no easy feat, and that too all by herself. Her fighting skills are as deadly as her cooking skills, one that even the Great Lord Rimuru can’t reject.
“Magic Lord” Diablo
Since the start of the series, he wanted to serve under Rimuru, but the latter never had any need to call for him. So the time he summoned and named him Diablo, he became greatly interested in doing everything necessary to make his ‘master’ happy.
He is the most powerful Primordial Demon, named “Black”. He became his second secretary after Shion and is the most powerful subordinate under Rimuru. Guy Crimson (the head of the demon clan in that world) even added Diablo being the strongest of all.

“Chimeric Lord” Kumara
Kumara, the cunning and intelligent fox, was once under the control of Clayman and participated in the fight against Rimuru. During the ongoing battle, Rimiru freed Kumara from Clayman’s control and late sought refuge under Rimuru. The nine-tailed fox gained the title Chimeric Lord Kumara and evolved into an awakened demon lord.
“Mist Lord” Zegion
Zegion was an ordinary insect who got saved by Rimuru and later trained hard to be able to work under him. He mastered the art of illusion and even gave a hard time to Diablo. He’s one of the strongest subordinates who is in charge of guarding the Labyrinth alongside other monsters.
“Gehenna Lord” Adalman
Adalman is the head of the ‘Undead’ who was bound to land by a curse, one which Clayman uses for his profit. He fought with Shuna during the battle and later got rescued by the latter from the curse. He starts to follow Rimuru and calls him his “New God”. Like Zegion, Adalman also looks after a Labyrinth named Jura.
Testarossa, Ultima, And Carrera
These three come off as a pack of individuals, receiving names like “Killer Lord” Testarossa, “Pain Lord” Ultima, and “Menance Lord” Carrera. These three were scouted by Diablo to serve under Rimuru, later forming the Black Corps group. They evolved into Demon Peers after Rimuru named them. They succeeded to the highest rank of the elite as Rimuru’s Guardians.
