This is the first ancient spell we come across in the earlier parts of the series. The spell is activated by Makarov in his fight against the Phantom Lord. This is one of the most powerful spells as it can eradicate any enemies that the caster deems to be. It’s a beautiful and gigantic spell that covers a large area, emitting light to erase darkness.
Apart from Makarov, Laxus also uses this spell against the guild members, but to the former’s shock, it doesn’t work. It’s mostly because Laxus in his heart cherished his family no matter how much he tried deceiving himself to think of the guild members as his enemy. The spell reacted to what his heart truly desired.

Fairy Glitter
Throughout the series, only one person is able to use this spell – Cana Alberona. Mavis, the founding master and the creator of the three legendary spells offered her the power to help the guild and her friends. Mavis even noted that Cana has a huge resource of latent ability and would be the perfect person to use the spell. This magic cannot be used by anyone out of the guild, or someone the creator itself doesn’t agree to.
Fairy Sphere
Fairy Glitter and Fairy Sphere are almost used in the same arc. Fairy Sphere was created by the Fairy Tail members unknowingly, forming a unison magical circle. It happened when Acnologia attacked the holy island and tried to erase it along with the guild members.
Mavis took the power of everyone’s bond and activated the Fairy Sphere, to keep them from harm’s way. It is an absolute and the only defensive spell among the three where no enemies can destroy the circle. The only disadvantage is, the people within the protective circle will fall into a coma stage until someone from their guild comes to find the latter.
