In ‘Dragon Ball’, Goku’s signature attack has always been the Kamehameha. This particular attack is famous in the entire anime world and almost every child has watched and tried to do the attack. As popular and iconic as this attack is, it is most certainly not the only attack Goku has up his sleeve.
Goku learned another technique known as the god-bind technique. This technique was first used against Broly and fans are curious about it. Read to find out what this technique is and who taught this to Goku.

What Is God Binding Technique?
As the name suggests, the technique is one that binds or restricts the opponents. This technique was used by Goku in his Super Saiyan god mode and was first used against Broly. The technique was introduced to clarify the distinction between super Saiyan Blue and super Saiyan god. Blue focuses solely on power, but God has some other techniques as well.
In this technique, Goku has to hold both of his hands in front of him, in a similar manner to when he does when he uses the Kamehameha. He channels his god Ki to restrain his opponent. This forms a ring around his hands and in this situation, Goku cannot move and has to stay still. Goku used this move against Broly, but he used his own Ki to turn the effects into Goku. This essentially means that instead of Broly getting restrained and paralyzed, it was Goku who suffered these effects.
Who Taught This To Goku?
Goku first used the move against Broly in the ‘Dragon Ball: Broly’ movie. In the movie, he was not taught the move by anyone and it seems that he learned, rather invented the move all by himself. In ‘Dragon Ball’, it doesn’t seem like Goku is the first person to use this move. Supreme Kai restrained Gohan in a very similar manner during the Majin Buu saga. He took the same stance and Gohan was restricted.
After being used in the movie, God Bind was introduced in the anime as well and was made part of Goku’s arsenal. In the series, Goku trained under Merus who tried to teach him Mastered Ultra Instinct. In the process of learning this, Goku managed to learn God Bind as well.
After using it against Broly in the movie, he used it against Moro, the dark wizard. Unlike his fight with Broly, Goku managed to successfully restrain and paralyze Moro in midair. This is how Goku learned the God Bind move.
