What Is The Reason Behind Their Popularity?
One of the main reasons why manga, manhwa, and manhua have become popular is the covid 19 pandemic. Many people started watching anime and Kdrama when the pandemic happened. After this, they became very curious about anime and started watching more and gradually switched to reading manga and manhua and manhwa. Many of the anime whose sequels hadn’t been released, were continued in their manga. The same stands true for Kdrama and Chinese drama.
Another reason is the increase in viewership of K-dramas. Some of the most popular K dramas have been adapted from manhwas. For instance, ‘True Beauty’ which is one of the most popular Korean dramas currently, was adapted from manhwa under the same name. Due to these adaptations, fans have become increasingly attracted to manhwas.
What Is The Difference Between Manga, Manhua, And manhwa?
The major difference between Manga, manhua, and manhwa is their countries of origin. Manga is written by Japanese authors and is written in Japanese. Manhwas are written by Korean authors and cater to Korean readers more. Manhuas are written in China and cater to Chinese audiences.
Another difference is the order of reading. Manga panels are read from right to left. This is opposite to how most people read and as a result, many people get confused and read manga in the wrong manner. The first panel is the one on the top right of the page and it progresses from there. Both manhwas and manhua are read from left to right. Manhwas generally have a big panel on the left and a smaller one on the right.
The third difference between Manga, manhua, and manhwa is that mangas are not colored. Mangas are rarely released with fully colored panels. They are released in Black and white and colored pages are released on special occasions. Manhuas and manhwas are both released in full color. In addition to that, manhuas are more censored as compared to the other two. In some violent scenes, blood is colored white instead of red for manhua. This is not done in the case of manhwa. These are the major differences between Manga, manhua, and manhwa.
