It has been confirmed that the popular shonen anime ‘Demon Slayer‘ will be getting a third season. In May 2022, the second season of the enormously popular anime franchise came to an end following an amazing finale that featured some of Demon Slayer’s most breathtaking action sequences to date.
For all the fans wondering what the future hold for Tanjiro and the Hashira Corps’ ongoing conflict with Muzan Kibutsuji. The question will soon be answered with the release of the new season.

When Does The New Season Release?
Although the new season is confirmed, there is a little bad news for the fans. The first and second seasons of ‘Demon Slayer’ were separated by about two and a half years, so we would anticipate that the third season would follow the same pattern.
Therefore, even if a release date for ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village arc’ has not yet been confirmed, we anticipate the third season to arrive in the fall of 2023. Fans are eagerly waiting for the release date for the new season.
Are There Any New Characters?
Although the new season of Demon Slayer is far away, we can guess the characters that will be a part of the sword smith village. Most of the main crew(Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu) will be a part of the season. The Hashiras of course will make an appearance.
The new characters that will be a focus of the swordsmith village arc would be the Mist Hashira and The Love Hashira. Whilst they have already made an appearance in the previous seasons, their screen time and contribution will be far more in this season.
In addition to them, new Upper demons will also make an appearance. Gyokko would be the main villain of the series with Kibutsuji Muzan and the rest of the upper demons making an appearance.
What Is The Plot Of The New Season?
It has been confirmed that the new season will follow the Swordsmith village arc from the manga. (Spoilers ahead)
Following the conclusion of the Entertainment District arc, in which Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui slew the demon twins Gyutaro and Daki, the Swordsmith Village storyline immediately follows. The fight with the twins was harsh and brutal and took a lot out of the demon slayers.
Luckily, Tanjiro’s demon-slaying sword was the only permanent fatality of this titanic encounter. His sword broke during the battle. In episode three of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro will visit the Swordsmith Village to have Hotaru Haganezuka fix his blade.
There, Tanjiro and company will encounter a swarm of demons while there (including an Upper-Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies). Fortunately, Muichiro Tokito, aka Mist Hashira, intervenes to handle the demon.
Has The Trailer Been Released?
Crunchyroll and the production firm Ufotable debuted their first season three teaser trailer in April 2022. Given that it essentially serves as a summary of the series to date, going over the highlights of seasons one and two, calling it a trailer could be a stretch. The inclusion of some crucial (old) videos of the Mist and Love Hashiras, who will undoubtedly play significant roles in the third season, is the most remarkable aspect.
‘Demon Slayer’ season three will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll when it debuts, according to a prior 2022 agreement between Ufotable and the service. Seasons one and two of Demon Slayer were made available to audiences worldwide in both subtitled and dubbed versions.
