Who Is Dr. Vegapunk?
Dr. Vegapunk made his first appearance quite early in the ‘One Piece’ manga. The top scientist working with the Marines is Dr. Vegapunk. He co-discovered the Lineage Factor and its applications, figured out how Devil Fruit powers work, and discovered the mysteries of seastone, among other scientific discoveries that are estimated to be at least 500 years ahead of today’s technology. Due to his preoccupation with his inventions at one point in the past, Vegapunk could divide his being into six distinct individuals. These six individuals, or “satellites,” will all announce themselves as Dr. Vegapunk even though they each have their names and numbers to distinguish them. Dr. Vegapunks’ Devil Fruit
Dr. Vegapunk is very interested in Devil fruits and how they work. So much so, that he created his devil fruits. His devil fruit however was considered a failure and was never given a name. He based his fruit on zoan type Uo Uo no Mi Model: Seiryu. But in his model, the user transforms into a pink dragon instead of the original blue.
It enables the player to change into a serpentine pink dragon that resembles the Chinese or Japanese variety. Additionally, the user acquires the ability to create Flame Clouds which can be utilized as stepping stones to simulate flight. The fruit bestows the typical Devil Fruit flaws.
The fruit’s initial application by Momonosuke seemed to have various problems, which may have contributed to its reputation as a failure. The fruit was considered a failure due to Momonosuke not having control over his transformations, and the size of his change is smaller.
