Who Is Power In ‘Chainsaw Man’?
Power is a Blood Fiend who doubles as a Public Safety Devil Hunter. She is a member of Makima’s specialized devil-hunting squad. A Fiend is a devil who has taken possession of a person’s corpse in the realm of Chainsaw Man. Power and Denji work together as devil hunters on patrol and in smaller-scale missions in the manga.
In ‘Chainsaw Man,’ Power is the first monster we meet in terms of the plot. She is the blood devil who has possessed a young girl’s body. She doesn’t look all that different from Chainsaw Man or other devils at first, but Fiends have distinguishing traits that reveal their identity.
Power’s Abilities
Since Power is a devil who has taken possession of a human body in the manga, she has improved natural and supernatural abilities.
Primary abilities:
- Enhanced Speed: She can move swiftly as a fighter thanks to it.
- Enhanced Smell: She has a good sense of smell and can smell blood even from a long distance.
- Enhanced Healing: She can drink the blood of other animals to heal herself.
Secondary/ Supernatural abilities:
- Blood Manipulation: Power is able to freely shape her body’s blood into weapons. Although she concedes that it is challenging, she is also able to control other people’s blood through physical contact and stop them from bleeding out.
- Also, Power can utilize her own blood to produce a massive hammer that she can use to stomp on her enemies, and she can also construct a spear out of her own blood and stab her prey with it.
- Blood Transfer: She can give someone her blood and life force in order to save their life.
- Corpse possession: Power resides in a deceased girl’s corpse as a Fiend. She still possesses all of her skills from when she was the Blood Devil, but she is significantly weakened.
- Reincarnation: Power will reincarnate in Hell if she is murdered on Earth, effectively making her eternal. If the Blood Devil is killed in Hell, she has the ability to reincarnate on Earth, where she will have a completely different look and lose all of her previous memories.
- Contract Creation: She may enter into agreements with people as a demon, just as Denji has done with his dog devil Pochita.
Power’s Personality
Power is untidy, nasty, and believes that others should clean up after her. She freely admits that she rarely takes a shower or flushes the toilet and thinks people are unduly sensitive for caring so much about their hygiene.
Also, Power is immature, rapacious, and nearly wholly self-serving. She frequently fights as if she has something to gain and is confident in her ability to win, and if she is the stronger party, she has no problem ending the conflict. She likes to boast about how superior she is to the other Devil Hunters because of her status as a Fiend.
