Who Is The Current Hokage?
The current Hokage of Konoha is Uzumaki Naruto. He is the seventh Hokage and succeeded Kakashi Hatake. Naruto always dreamed of becoming the Hokage ever since he was a child. He wished to become the Hokage as he wanted to be strong and because he wanted the approval of the villagers. The villagers treated him differently because he was the jinchuriki of the nine-tailed fox and they thought him to be a monster. He proved all of them wrong and saved the Shinobi world.
Uzumaki Naruto became the seventh Hokage after Kakashi chose to step down from the post. Kakashi was the sixth Hokage of Konoha and was sort of an interim Hokage. He succeeded Tsunade Senju, the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju. Naruto is the only Hokage who jumped from being a genin to a Hokage.
Who Will Be The Eighth Hokage?
It is hard to deduce who would be the next Hokage of Konoha as it has not been explicitly mentioned. Uzumaki Naruto hasn’t named his successor either. The two plausible choices for the next Hokage would have to either be Shikamaru or Konohamaru.
Sasuke prefers to protect the village from outside as the shadow Hokage of Konoha. He used to be interested in being Hokage, but he hasn’t shown interest in the position for a long time. Sarada is too young to be a Hokage currently, but she might become the ninth Hokage.
Shikamaru is one of the smartest characters in the series and is highly responsible. He keeps Naruto in check and advises him to the best of his capabilities. If danger were to befall Konoha, he would be the best person to deal with it. As for Konohamaru, he has shown his interest in becoming Hokage in ‘Naruto’ as well.
Konohamaru said that after Uzumaki Naruto he would become the Hokage. This might happen. It will also follow the pattern of the Hokage being related to or being the students of the previous Hokage. Naruto was the fourth Hokage, Minato’s son and was the student of the sixth Hokage. Therefore, these two are the most likely choices for the eighth Hokage of Konoha.
