What Is Akatsuki?
The group that was most feared and despised in ‘Naruto’ was Akatsuki. Yahiko created it initially, but after his passing, it became a criminal gang. Akatsuki was made up of rogue ninjas from several villages that were feared everywhere. Some of the series’ toughest, most intimidating fighters were part of the group.
The Akatsuki is a group of people who operate against village rules. They can be seen with red clouds over their black coats. The Akatsuki’s principal objectives were to establish peace and improve the world. They have a variety of hiding places that only the crew can access. Each person in the group possessed special skills and was extremely strong. Some members even possessed Kekkei Genkai which made them quite formidable and hard to defeat.
After Yahiko was killed, Pain or Uzumaki Nagato became the leader of the organization. He was friends with Yahiko who formed the organization. Yahiko was unfairly killed by a Shinobi and Konan and Nagato realized that if they want to survive in this world, they would have to get extremely powerful. They then began capturing the tailed beasts to achieve true world peace through conquest and fear.
Why Do The Members Have Crossed-Out Headbands?
The members of Akatsuki were all rogue ninjas. They were either cast out of the village, chose to leave, or were fugitives. They were labeled criminals in their respective villages. The members did not have any loyalty to their villages and were only loyal to themselves and the organization.
The members of Akatsuki have one thing in common; they all have forehead protectors with their respective villages crossed out. All the members of Akatsuki have crossed out their villages’ symbols upon joining the organization.
This symbolizes that they have forsaken their villages and no longer have any allegiance or loyalty toward them. If their villages were to be attacked, the members would not intervene or even try to save the village. The exception to this statement is Itachi as his reasons for joining the organization were different and he still wanted to protect Konoha.
It also says that they don’t belong to a village and only belong to the organization. All the members wear these headbands.
