‘Naruto‘ is one of the most watched and loved anime all over the world. This anime has everything, ranging from action to romance to even comedy sometimes. This anime is the entire package for someone, especially for someone new to anime.
Another amazing thing about this anime is its characters. Two of the much-loved characters are Kisame and Itachi. Both of them are very feared and are members of the Akatsuki. Let’s find out who they are and why they were paired together.

Who Are Itachi And Kisame?
Itachi Uchiha is the perpetrator of the Uchiha clan massacre. He is also the elder brother of Sasuke Uchiha. Itachi was considered a villain due to his action but he only did so because he wanted to protect the village of Konoha.
Itachi managed to kill his entire family except for his younger brother. This proves that Itachi loved his younger brother more than anyone could have imagined. He also managed to unlock the Mangekyou Sharingan and was thus able to use Amaterasu and Susanoo. He is one of the strongest characters in the series.
Kisame Hoshigake is a swordsman from Kirigakure and was part of the seven swordsmen of the mist. He is one of the most talented swordsmen in the entire series and is feared by many.
Similar to Itachi, Kisame also murdered his comrades. He killed one of his comrades as he was selling information to other ninja villages that could jeopardize Kirigakure, he killed the friend. This made him realize that the world is filled with lies and he joined the Akatsuki after he was approached by ‘Madara Uchiha’.
Why Were Kisame And Itachi Paired?
Kisame was known for his dislike of traitors and it was also known by everyone in the Akatsuki that he killed one of his close comrades due to disloyalty. Itachi was under scrutiny and was suspected of becoming a traitor.
Due to Itachi and Kisame’s history, Kisame was paired with Itachi to keep an eye on him and to kill him if he ever betrayed the Akatsuki.
Whilst their partnership began with hostility, they became the strongest and most balanced pair in the entire organization. They were individually very powerful and their strength and intelligence complimented each other. This was why they were partnered together in Akatsuki.
