‘Attack on Titan’ has become one of the most popular and well-known anime of all time, if not the most. People love this anime for a plethora of reasons, some of them being its plot, characters, and animation. One thing that some fans however hate is the manga’s ending.
The fans were divided by the manga’s ending, some supported it while others felt it to be bad. The fans are now curious whether the anime will follow the same ending or if would it be different. Read to find out.

How Did The Manga End?
There are going to be spoilers for the manga in the paragraph. The anime has already got to the point where Eren and his plans have been revealed. He wishes to unleash all the titans in the three walls of Paradis Island to cause the rumbling. Eren plans to get them to move and cross seas and annihilate the world’s population.
He wants to do that to save his friends including Mikasa. Armin, Levi and Hange and his Island. Eren believed that if there was no one left to oppose and threaten his people, then they would be safe. As a result, he brings about the rumbling. Eren’s friends are against his ideas and do not wish for him to commit genocide. As a result, they try to stop him.
The manga shows their attempts at trying to stop Eren. They struggle a lot because of the titans and Eren’s wishes to stop them. Mikasa manages to reach the founding Titan and the manga ends with Mikasa killing Eren and stopping the rumbling. However, even if they managed to stop it, Eren killed 80% of the world’s population. Some fans were disappointed with this ending and wanted Eren to live.
Will The Anime End Differently?
Fans are eagerly waiting for the anime’s ending. Season 4 part 3 of the anime just released and fans are waiting for the next part. They wish to know if the animators will follow the manga’s ending despite it having multiple negative reactions.
Isayama mentioned that he regrets the way he ended the manga. He said that it was difficult for him to draw the climax of the manga and he wasn’t able to express himself properly in the last chapters of the manga. He wished for an ending that would please everyone but he couldn’t.
Because of this, the ending of the anime might likely be different. On the flip side, both WIT and Mappa have followed Isayama’s manga to the point and haven’t changed anything. Therefore it is also possible that Mappa may choose to keep the same ending despite fans not being happy with it. Up till the recent season, the manga was followed properly and it seems unlikely that the studio will change anything. However only time and the next season will confirm anything.
