Whoopi Goldberg has never been the one to shy away from expressing her views on life and work unapologetically. In another such candid interview, the actress shed light on her perspective over marriage and relationships.
Though she has been married quite a few times in her life, the actress said she prefers casual connections over emotional ones. The ‘Sister Act‘ actress also opened about how content she is with her current life. Here’s what she said.

Whoopi Goldberg Says She Is Not Made For Marriages
Whoopi Goldberg held no bars while talking about her relationships and marriage during a recent interview. The actress revealed why at this point in her life, she doesn’t see herself getting married in the future but does enjoy a “hit-and-run” relationship.
‘The View‘ co-host was appearing for an interview to promote her new book, ‘Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me’, when Goldberg was asked about past relationships and unsuccessful marriages. The actress said that her prefernce today lies in autonomy and casual connections over the emotional investment of marriage.
“I don’t have the energy for that kind of relationship,” she said. “You know, when you’re married to somebody, you have to be invested in how they’re feeling. I am not,” she added.
Whoopi has had her own fair share of bad marriages as she got married thrice. Goldberg said that the life she is currently living brings her much more peace in terms of family dynamics as well as her own mental health.

Whoopi Goldberg Says She Only Needs Little Intimacy In Life For Enjoyment
Whoopi Goldberg further revealed that she is currently focused on several other things than her romantic life. “I’m invested in my kid. I’m invested in her kids. I’m invested in my son-in-law. I’m invested in my friends. But I’m not invested in a relationship that would require as much as having a child requires and I know that that’s not for me,” the actress added.
She also went a step further to admit that she is fundamentally a selfish person and finds fulfillment in the relationships she already has with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Though marriage is last on the list of her wishes, she does prioritize having an active sex life and seeks casual relationships. The actress opined that not everyone is meant for marriage and being one of those people, she only needs a little intimacy in life. “Many people enjoy, you know, sex. So sometimes a little hit and run is not bad,” she said.
