Ana de Armas Doesn’t Want James Bond’s Character To Be Stolen
Ana de Armas had a meager five-minute cameo in ‘No Time To Die.’ She played the role of one of Bond’s spies who assists him on a mission in Havana. Her character and performance garnered intriguing responses and reactions from the fans. She was a mysterious character, who showed up in a black deep-neck dress, with exemplary spy skills.
In light of her new startling cameo in the movie, Ana de Armas told The Sun that there is no need for a female James Bond. Talking about the protagonist, Bond, she said, “There’s no need for a female Bond. There shouldn’t be any need to steal someone else’s character, you know, to take over.” She continued, “This is a novel, and it leads into this James Bond world and this fantasy of that universe where he’s at.”
The Actress Shares Ideas For Bond Girls
The ‘Deep Water‘ actress further explained a different alternative she’d like—Bond girls written with substantial and heavy characterization. Armas strongly feels that a more layered character of the Bonds girl can add to the spark of the James Bond movie. In her exact words, “What I would like is that the female roles in the Bond films, even though Bond will continue to be a man, are brought to life in a different way, that they’re given a more substantial part and recognition. That’s what I think is more interesting than flipping things.”
Fans loved her cameo so much that they are also calling for a spin-off movie for Armas’ 007 mysterious woman named Paloma.
