Being skinny has become mainstream but singer Beyoncé is not a supporter of it. Recently, news came to light that she critiqued the poster of her movie ‘Austin Powers In Goldmember’ as she thought she looked extra skinny in it.
The move proves that the singer is not afraid of showing off her curves and is proud of how she looks. She is all about breaking stereotypes. As usual, the movie ended up being a hit with Beyoncé playing the role of Foxxy Cleopatra. What did the ‘Halo‘ singer really do, know all about it in details.
What Did Beyoncé Really Say?
In an interview with Vulture on the 20th anniversary of the film’s release, Kate Biscoe, the movie’s makeup artist spoke about a very unique incident. She spoke about Queen Bey at the time she was playing the role of Foxxy Cleopatra. The ‘Crazy In Love‘ singer was just 19 years old at that time when she got the role of an FBI agent. But even at such a young age, she was not at all afraid to say what was on her mind boldly.
“When we were shooting, someone brought her a poster that would be promoting the movie,” Biscoe told the outlet. “He showed it to her, like, ‘Do you like it?’ And she was kind of like, ‘Yeah.’ He goes, ‘What’s the matter?’ And she says, ‘You made me too skinny. It’s not me. Then she did this hourglass shape.” After that “(Beyoncé) walked away to go do the scene,” in a bold manner.
What Was The Reaction To The Singer’s Plea Of Changing The Poster?
As Biscoe stated, the reply was “‘Okay, we’ll fix that‘” to Beyoncé when she asked to change the picture. She said, “I looked at him and smiled, like, ‘Is that the first time that you’ve ever had an actress ask to make her body bigger?’ He was like, ‘Yes. It’s going to cost me thousands of dollars, but I am going to do it.’” That movie ended up being Beyoncé’s second major acting project and was an absolute success.
