Kanye West Celebrity Feuds
Justin Timberlake
At the 2015 VMA Awards, Ye took a jibe at the ‘Sexy back‘ crooner while recounting their past encounter at the Grammys. “The contradiction is that I do fight for artists but in that fight, somehow, was disrespectful to artists,” West said. He went on to talk about Justin’s behavior. At the time, Justin jokingly tweeted back, “Kanye is so cute, y’all.”
Jay-Z
Jay-Z mentored Ye for years before the two had a fallout after he upstaged the ‘Lover‘ singer’s VMA victory and called out Beyonce. Since then, the two have been taking potshots at one another. He called out West on his 4:44 album after which West removed his entire discography from Jay-Z’s Tidal.
John Legend
Legend and West had long been friends, with the EGOT winner even producing one of Ye’s earliest albums. He recently said that the two “aren’t friends as much as we used to be” Legend stated, “I honestly think because we publicly disagreed on his running for office, his supporting [Donald] Trump, I think it became too much for us to sustain our friendship, honestly.”
Gigi Hadid
Ye was criticized for wearing a White Lives Matter shirt at the recently held Paris Fashion Week. One of them was Gabriella Karefa-Johnson who called out his problematic shirt. Ye was quick to target her on social media. Gigi Hadid, a close friend of Gabriella, came out in her defense. However, the rapper then started targeting Hadid as well.
Trevor Noah
In March this year, during a segment on ‘The Daily Show‘, Noah called out Ye’s bullying people on social media. “What’s weird about the situation is Kanye West has told us that he struggles with his mental health,” the said. West then used a racial slur to clap back.
Pete Davidson
West started targeting comedian Pete Davidson right after the latter started dating Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. He has released a video for “Eazy” that showed him kidnapping and burying an animated version of Pete. He also sang about “beating Pete Davidson’s ass.” Since then, Pete has been attending trauma therapy sessions because of these attacks.
