Bill Gates is not only one of the world’s wealthiest person, but he also donates large sums to charity. The Microsoft co-founder has been running the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which works in various sectors and is the world’s second-largest charitable foundation.
Bill recently wrote a tweet that has created ripples in the business world. He has vowed to drop off the world’s rich list and donate his money to “reducing suffering” and “improving lives.”

Bill Gates Vows To Drop From The Rich List
Bill Gates has decided to donate $20 billion to his philanthropic fund in Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The world’s fourth richest man tweeted that he has an obligation to give it back to society and it a better place.
He wrote: “I have an obligation to return my resources to society in ways that have the greatest impact for reducing suffering and improving lives. And I hope others in positions of great wealth and privilege will step up in this moment too.”

The 66-year-old businessman said, “I plan to give away virtually all of my wealth to the foundation. I will move down and eventually off of the list of the world’s richest people.”
In a series of tweets, Bill explained that several huge global setbacks, including the pandemic, climate change, and the Ukraine war have left him and others wondering “whether the world is destined to get worse.” He then talked about his foundation which he co-founded with his ex-wife Melinda Gates in 2000.
The business magnet had first pledged to give away his wealth in 2010 but his net worth has more than doubled since then. His current net worth, according to Forbes, is $118 billion. It will drop significantly after his donation. His charitable foundation will boost its spending from $6 billion a year to $9 billion by 2026.
Bill Gates Talks About Elon Musk
Bill Gates, in an interview with Savannah two months ago, had talked about Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He was asked whether he is worried about the business decisions of Elon. To which he said that we cannot underestimate Elon.
He said, “What he did with Tesla is amazing, helping with climate change, and what he did with SpaceX… you know will this time he make the improvement?… should there be laws that strike a better balance of free speech vs. conspiracy theories confusing people.”
