Pearl Jam was performing at the Bottlerock Napa Valley when the frontman host Eddie Vedder asked Bradley Cooper to join him on the stage. “Please, would you join me in welcoming to the stage my great, great pal Bradley Cooper,” Vedder announced during the band’s headlining set.

Cooper asserted that the performance was a dream come true for him. The actor has a penchant for music and has often expressed his admiration for musicians.

Cooper and Vedder have also been friends for a long time after they worked together during the production of ‘A Star Is Born‘. Cooper has in the past clarified that Vedder’s expertise helped him greatly to perfect his portrayal of Jackson Maine. He said that Vedder has been kind enough to consult him about numerous details that helped him hone his performance.

I went up to Seattle and spent four or five days with him and I asked him 9,000 questions,” Cooper told Yahoo Movies. “And he gave me minor, little things that only musicians know about what to do, just aesthetically and the inner workings,” he added.

Bradley Cooper also opened up about how Eddie Vedder initially thought his decision to remake the classic Hollywood tale was misguided. “He thought it was crazy I was going to do this movie,” Cooper revealed. “He was like, ‘What? Bro, don’t do that.’”

Other than Vedder, there were others who also criticized Cooper’s decision. Barbra Streisand, who starred in the 1976 version, felt the 2018 film lacked originality. “I don’t care so much about success as I do originality,” Streisand had said at the time.

However, Cooper’s vision proved successful. ‘A Star Is Born‘ was a blockbuster and ended up hogging eight Oscar nominations, including Best Actor and Best Director for Cooper.
